Horse Training
For an additional charge of $20/session or $200 per month, the horse that you board at Shamrock Farm can be trained. We are skilled in natural horsemanship methods and can ride many different disiplines. Examples of skills that are appropriate for different ages of horses are below.
Weanlings are halter-broke and learn to lead. They are also taught to stand for grooming and the farrier.
Yearlings are worked in the round pen and on a longe line. They are taught to walk, back, trot, and lope by voice command. They also learn to stand while tied, bathed, and clipped.
Two-year-olds are saddled and driven in the round pen. They learn to walk, back, trot, and lope with a rider and are ridden in the round pen, arena, and on trail rides.
Older horses can be readied for the show pen, taught new disciplines, or we can help you overcome their bad habits.
